Hidden Hill Residence

Back to All Work

SM+P Architects restored the early 1900s stone facade of Hidden Hill — repairing and replacing where necessary to return the exterior to its original integrity. The interior was gutted and a new structural system of steel and concrete was designed to stabilise the building, with exposed heavy timber framing supporting the roof. A kitchen addition and two elevators were added to serve the modern needs of the family. Additionally, a historic carriage house that had collapsed on the site was rebuilt by SM+P on the existing footprint, maintaining the spirit of the original building. New hydronic radiant floors, high-efficiency windows, and a comprehensive cold roof system complete a technically demanding restoration.
