When fire destroyed the Mt. Washington Tavern, SM+P Architects was charged with rebuilding it — not merely restoring what was lost, but creating something worthy of a beloved Baltimore institution. The result was a completely new 10,000 square foot restaurant with four distinct dining venues, each with its own character while sharing a coherent design language. SM+P’s ability to deliver post-disaster reconstruction at this scale — on a landmark building, with all the community expectation that entails — reflects the same technical skill and architectural sensitivity that defines their historic preservation work.
