Located in Capitol Hill, Café Fili’s second location is located steps away from Washington, DC’s Union Station. SM+P was brought on to design a restaurant space which by day functions primarily as a fast-casual café, and by night a more formal atmosphere. A custom curtain between the two spaces helps make the transition from day to night. Additionally, custom-milled bar walls define the daytime café counter and the evening bar. Copper detailing, terracotta accents and warm wood tones draw inspiration from the Mediterranean fare. In addition to full design services, SM+P specified all lighting and furniture elements for the space.
